Melissa Lane
has been a resident of Glover Park since 1987 and an ANC Commissioner
since March 2002. Along with being a Commissioner, her paying job
is Staff Associate for Information Management in the Geosciences Directorate
at the National Science Foundation where she is responsible for managing
the budget for the agency’s multimillion dollar environmental
research and education effort. She is also responsible for managing
several Federal web sites.
Commissioner
Lane’s primary goal is to ensure that the concerns of Glover Park
citizens are heard and addressed by the D.C. government. Her specific
interests are enhancing public safety by promoting use of traffic calming
measures, increasing neighborhood parking for residents, and working
with the D.C. Department of Transportation to coordinate neighborhood
road construction. She also serves on the Ward 3 Traffic Policy Committee
and works with Friends of Glover Park on improving the Stoddert
Recreation Center.
