2nd DISTRICT POLICE REPORT:

Sgt. Brown, PSA 205, stated that 30 tickets were issued in Glover Park for reciprocity violations in May 2000. The Smart Machine is still broken and no one knows when it will be repaired.

He stated that during the last week of May, two people were victims of gunshot wounds in PSA 205.  Three suspects were caught along with a gun and stolen property that could connect them to at least 8 robberies in the area.

From 1/1/00 through 6/7/00, PSA 205 had a 21.65% reduction in crime and the 2nd District was leading the city in overall reduction by 4.268% for the third month in a row.

Commissioner Ritzenberg asked that a member of the police department contact the resident manager of the Westchester Apartments to address residents concerns about theft now that Cathedral Avenue is open for two-way traffic.

PRESENTATION:

42nd Street Parking and Public Space Tickets issued on 4-7-00

Commissioner Breeden stated that the Department of Public Works (DPW) had been contacted and she was passed around form division to division.  No one wanted to take the responsibility to address the problem regarding the issuance of parking tickets along 42nd Street in area that had been used by residents for parking for more than 20 years.

Commissioner Ritzenberg asked that the ANC give Gwen Mitchell, Director of the Parking Division at DPW, a chance to investigate the situation and report back to ANC 3B.

Commissioner Procida stated that in the past year and a half, none of the requests for parking changes that would increase off street parking that ANC 3B had submitted to DPW had been addressed.

Commissioner Procida asked if CVS had been co-operating with the neighbors with regard to their requests for changes in the parking structure and if the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) had responded to the request for restrictions on delivery trucks.

Milt Grossman, Hall Place resident, stated that DCRA will not impose a condition on the Occupancy Permit with regard to size of trucks and location of loading and unloading of inventory for the store.
